The Final Export Point
This Floating Storage and Offloading vessel, stationed permanently off the coast of Cameroon, holds the Chadian crude oil for arriving tankers and then fills their tanks so the oil can be exported to world markets. The pipeline and marine terminal are crucial elements in the project, since Chad is a landlocked country and there was no other practical way to convert Chad’s oil into a resource that could help alleviate the country’s poverty.
