Sakhalin-1: A New Frontier

The first phase of the Sakhalin-1 project, one of the world's most ambitious developments, reached peak production of 250,000 barrels of oil per day in the first quarter of 2007. Sakhalin-1: A New Frontier details this pioneering development from its formative stages on the remote Sakhalin shelf in the Russian Arctic in the early 1990s. Operated by Exxon Neftegas Limited on behalf of a five-company international consortium, Sakhalin-1 is expected to continue providing benefits for Russia, the Asia-Pacific and a world needing more energy for at least the next 40 years.
