
Throughout the course of a century, ExxonMobil Baton Rouge has grown from a refinery on 225 acres of cotton fields to one of the largest and most integrated petrochemical complexes in the world. ExxonMobil Baton Rouge has been essential to the economic, political and social landscape of the community by providing quality jobs to generations of employees, producing technological innovation that supported various war efforts and through employee and retiree efforts that help improve the community.
Operational excellence combined with improved energy efficiencies, is responsible for Baton Rouge's ever-increasing output capacity. Baton Rouge also has the unique advantage of versatility in operations that comes from integrated facilities within close proximity. Products produced at the ExxonMobil Baton Rouge Refinery include gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, aviation fuel, lubricating oils and waxes. In addition, products produced at the Chemical Plant , along with the Resins Finishing, Polyolefins and Plastics plants are used to make products you use everyday such as paint, adhesives, plastic milk cartons, auto parts, plastic films, synthetic rubber, diapers, lubricants and much more.

As the largest private employer in the parish and second largest manufacturing employer in Louisiana, ExxonMobil continues to support the economy. The company provides local jobs for approximately 300 employees as well as an additional contractor workforce of about 2000. ExxonMobil is the single largest taxpayer in East Baton Rouge Parish and statewide, our local operations pay more than $100 million in taxes each year.
