ExxonMobil is a major supplier of fuel oil, gas oil, kerosine and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). In the UK, these Esso branded fuels are used predominantly for heating by industrial, commercial and domestic users.

As well as delivering these fuels directly to large-volume customers, we also use selected distributors to sell our branded products. These distributors are a key element in our distribution network and supply more than 80,000 customers ranging from agricultural, small commercial and industrial businesses to domestic users.

Fuel oil is used by large organisations that need to generate steam for either industrial processes or for heating - for example, factories or hospitals.

Gas oil is used is used to power heating systems in buildings such as office blocks and schools.

Kerosine is the fuel used by the vast majority of domestic oil-fired central heating systems.  

LPG, which can be supplied as propane or butane, is often used as an alternative to natural gas where the customer does not have a gas main supply. It's used by industries such as potteries or bakeries where precise temperature control is essential, in homes for heating and cooking, and in small containers as a portable fuel for BBQs, patio heaters, camping stoves etc.  Having significant storage capacity, Esso is one of the largest suppliers of LPG in the UK market.
